Certificates

One certificate per product per subcategory standard. A product sold in two forms holds two certificates, because the standard and the basis differ.

Specimen rows. Status A is full certification; B is a transitional variance available on Tier 2 metals only; C is probation with the mark suspended.

Documents and letters

Everything the brand needs to answer a retailer questionnaire or a regulator without going through us: the permissions letter that authorises mark usage, the certificate itself, the laboratory reports behind it, and the edition of the standard in force when it was issued.

The permissions letter is the document a retailer’s compliance team actually asks for. It names the product, the standard edition, the analyte panel and the basis, and it expires with the certificate.

Lot record

The brand’s own view carries measured values. The public register does not — it states conformity only. This asymmetry is deliberate: the evidence is auditable on request without publishing a competitor’s process data.

Headroom is the margin between the lot result and the published limit. A lot trending toward zero headroom triggers a surveillance notice before it becomes an exceedance.

Remediation

The Confidential Remediation Track exists so that a brand which finds a problem is better off telling us than concealing it. Nothing in this section is published, disclosed to a retailer, or reflected in the public register while an item is open and on schedule. A brand that reports and remediates keeps its certificate; a brand that conceals loses it.

Cadmium trend — Oat & Banana Baby Cereal
Open · on schedule

Headroom on cadmium narrowed across three consecutive lots without exceeding the published limit. Opened by the brand under the surveillance protocol rather than triggered by a failure, which is what the track is for.

Supplier substitution — oat groats, secondary mill
Closed

Secondary mill introduced without a heavy-metal specification in the supply agreement. Specification added, incoming lots tested, and the mill re-qualified.

Public brand page

Every certified brand has one public page. It is what a consumer reaches by scanning the mark and what a retailer links to in a vendor record. The brand controls the description and the imagery; it does not control the certificate status, the standard named, or the lot conformity history.

Brand-controlled fieldsdescription, imagery
Program-controlled fieldsstatus, standard, history

The split is the point: a brand can tell its own story, but it cannot edit the finding. The certificate status, the standard named and the lot conformity history are program-controlled and render the same whether the brand likes them or not.

Seats and access

Regulatory, quality and legal all need the certificate record, and they should not share one login. Seats are per person; the audit trail records who downloaded which letter and when.
